Butterfly Bayou
I loved this story. The cover grabbed me, the butterflies and the adorable dog. But the characters! Lila is a Nurse Practitioner who survived a tragedy that cost the life of her best friend. She left Austin for the little town of Papillon, Louisiana, taking over a practice from an aging Dr. who wants to retire. Her sister and husband run a little bar and grill, so she would have family. Lila is strong, outspoken and an excellent practitioner, but the small town outside of New Orleans is not open to fancy strangers. The local sheriff, Armie, tall dark and handsome, has a teenager who is confined to a wheelchair, and makes the mistake of giving Lila a ticket for speeding, thanks to Otis, the town’s ornery alligator. The story is funny, suspenseful and oh so sexy. Can’t wait to grab Bayou Baby, the next in the series. Pat Fordyce

Lots of Heat in the Bayou
I started this book at 9 pm and couldn't put it down until I had finished it. A great set of characters in a Bayou town that made me feel like I was back in Louisiana. I adored this book, I loved how it had the signature humor of Lexi Blake's Master's and Mercenaries series and all the emotions. I loved how she was able to make a character that I didn't like in another books into a character that I adored. The main character was portrayed in a different book as a snob and too good for others and yet this book I was able to see why she was that way, what made her the way she was. Lexi Blake did a fantastic job of making me root for her and make me feel what she was feeling. The sheriff, whoa! He was someone I adored at the beginning of the book and, yet again, the author was able to make me so angry at him. When it was all said and done, I couldn't get enough of these characters, and all the characters from the Bayou. I am anxiously awaiting for the next book in this series because it feels like it comes from the heart and I can't wait to see what these characters have in store for us next!

Armie and Lila
Butterfly Buyou seems to be a place where folks come to relax and regenerate. Lila has had a rough time. Armie has had a rough time. Noelle pulls at your heart. This does remind me a lot of the Bliss series. A lot of push pull. Action and drama. Lots of life lessons about ,love, family and strength.

Fun read!
This book has me so excited that it's a new series. I just love small town romances. It was pretty funny how this small town reacted to the city slicker nurse coming to take over the town clinic. I grew up in a small town, so I could see some of this actually happen which just had me completely entertained. I loved the main couple just as much as all the side characters in the Butterfly Bayou. Lila was a little hard to connect with at first but the more you learn about her, the more you understand her. Then once she meets and gets closer to Armie, the real Lila started to shine through. I actually really admired her. She showed how important it is to love despite the risks and to love without fear. She was awesome. Armie was a very easy hero to love. He's a single dad who you could actually feel how much he loved his daughter. Then the way he saw Lila and wasn't scared to go after her? Well, I just love a man who knows what he wants. It doesn't mean he doesn't mess up, but I even liked that as well. The author just handled everything about these two in such a way that the ending was so completely satisfying. I really can't wait for more in the Butterfly Bayou series.
